Paws for thought. Adding our name to the dog-friendly database.

Did you know you can bring your four-legged friends with you when visit?

Well (hopefully) more of you will, now that we've listed Yorkshire Lavender on DogFriendly and Dog Furiendly - both online databases listing days out and attractions across the UK that welcome our furry friends.

Stanley, having a stroll through the lavender.

'Can I bring my dog?' is one of the most frequently asked questions we get asked throughout the season and we're always pleased to answer that 'yes, you absolutely can'.

Well-behaved dogs are allowed in the shop, plant nursery, and certain areas of EJ's Tea Room. They can also accompany you through the gardens, as long as they are kept on a lead.

We have plenty of outdoor space for you to explore during your visit so do feel free to bring your dogs and let them stretch their legs with you.

Dogs and lavender. Is it safe?

While lavender has many wonderful properties that can be beneficial to humans, you may wonder if the same can be said for our canine companions.

Lavender contains small amounts of a compound called 'Lanalool' which can be toxic to dogs. However, it takes a very large quantity of this to become harmful. So, walking about and having a good sniff should be absolutely fine - and may even be as pleasant and relaxing for them as it is for us. Just keep an eye on your pets to make sure they don't start munching on bunches of purple flowers!
