Getting your tickets

If you're looking to spend some time in our beautiful, relaxing gardens, we have a range of ticket options available for your garden admission. 

Entrance to the Yorkshire Lavender shop, plant nursery and tea room is free. You will only need to purchase tickets to enter our gardens, which you can either do in advance online or on the day when you arrive. ​​​​​

Please note: When booking online, you'll be given a choice of time slot. Whichever slot you choose, you are very welcome to arrive before,or after, and stay as long as you like during our open hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do 'concession' tickets cover?

Concessions include students, persons over 60 years of age, YO60 residents and Blue Light Card holders. To benefit from a concession rate, please bring a form of verification when purchasing your tickets in person at Yorkshire Lavender.

How do I get to you?

  • By car - use the A64 for the most direct route to us.​

  • By train - the nearest station is Malton and then taxi

  • By bus - The moorsbus network offers a weekend and bank holiday service. View their timetable here

If you're taking a taxi, please be sure to pre book your return journey before closing time.

Do carers receive a discount?

A carer may accompany a guest free or charge with proof of carer status.

When is the lavender in bloom?

We have different varieties of lavender in our gardens and they flower at differing time. But all the lavender tends to be in bloom from mid-July to the end of August, when we harvest the flowers. For the most up to date information on flowering, please keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages when we share regular updates. 

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, we are dog friendly! You can bring your dog to the gardens, and in the shop, plant nursery and certain areas of the tea room, as long as they are kept on a lead at all times. 

Do I need a ticket for the Tea Room?

No, admission to the Tea Room, shop and plant nursery is free. You will only need an admission ticket for the gardens.

Do I need to book online?​​​​

If you are not sure of your plans, or want to be spontaneous, you can simply pay for your garden admission ticket on arrival. Otherwise, please feel free to book a ticket online. If you are interested in a pre-packed picnic or an afternoon tea, these need to be booked 48 hours in advance of your visit.  

What times are you open?

During the season we are open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm. We close at 5pm so please allow plenty of time for your visit. Please note that the Tea Room is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but refreshments will be available elsewhere on site. 

How long does it take to go round the gardens?

This depends entirely on how fast you walk! Some people choose to linger for a long time, bring a picnic, sit and relax and enjoy the views or explore the different garden areas. Others have a flying visit. There is no time limit so feel free to relax with us for as long as you'd like. 

Do you close for Bank Holidays?

No, we stay open 7 days a week through the season, including Bank Holidays so why not enjoy some of your long weekend with us. 

Can I bring a picnic?

Absolutely! You are welcome to bring food to enjoy in our gardens. Or, why not take the hassle out of preparing one and book a picnic from the Tea Room, which includes free garden admission!
