Artistic licence. Getting inspired by the lavender landscape

When it comes to creativity, nature is a theme that delivers, no matter the season.

Painters, photographers and poets have long drawn their inspiration from the landscape (and the plants, animals and birds that reside there).

And it seems that our lavender fields are no exception. Every year, we receive pictures and messages, demonstrating the projects that a visit to Yorkshire Lavender has inspired - and we love to see it!

Creative crochet

We adore this set up, made by the very talented Julie Payne! These intricate crochet lavender stems look perfect alongside the equally impressive lavender cake!

This gorgeous delicate watercolour painting was sent to us a few years ago and we love it. It's such a beautiful snapshot of the Yorkshire Lavender gardens, with the iconic pops of blue among the purple.

What does Yorkshire Lavender look like at night?

That's a question 13 year old Lyra Moss asked herself when she created this starry night scene. We love that she chose The Spirit of Yorkshire for the image - it looks like the cricketers are trying to catch the stars!

Have you been inspired by a visit to us this year?

We'd love to see what you created. From pastels to paintings, ceramics to crochet, photography to poetry, we love seeing how you express your experience of Yorkshire Lavender.

Please share your art at info@yorkshirelavender.com - we'd love to see it!

Inspired, but looking for a little guidance?

We'll soon be arranging our workshops of 2025.

From painting workshops to flower arranging photography to crafting we'll be offering loads of creative outlets to try out. Do keep an eye on our social media and your inbox for details of upcoming workshops!
