Ok, this is a bit exciting!
After we closed for the season, we started to really miss making our famous lavender scones.
Now, this isn't unusual. When we harvest the lavender, and close for the year, we always miss baking our scones. But this year, we've really been craving them - and it seems we're not alone.
Lots of you contacted us to see if we were keeping the tea room open, just so you could have another a taste of summer. And while we don't keep EJ's Tea Room open out of season, it did get us thinking - why not offer our freshly baked scones through the post?
So we are!
Our Cream Teas in a Box are now available to buy, with two options to choose from. - Lavender and Yorkshire.
Lavender Cream Tea in a Box comes with our loose lavender tea - perfect for those of you who really love the delicate flavour of lavender. Our Yorkshire Cream Tea in a Box comes with classic Yorkshire tea - a good option if you'd rather save the lavender for the scones.
Both Cream Tea in a Box options come with two freshly baked lavender scones, made to the recipe we use every day during the season. We also pop in a jar of our famous Blueberry & Lavender Conserve and delicious fresh Rodda's clotted cream.
So, whether you're looking to treat yourself, or send a smile in the post to friends or family, our Cream Tea in a Box is a lovely opportunity for a moment of indulgence.
A note on postage
We bake our fresh lavender scones every Wednesday morning, and pack and post them the same day. The cut off for orders each week is 9pm on Tuesday. Orders placed after this time will be sent out the following week with the next fresh batch.
