Cheers to Afternoon Tea Week (11th - 17th August)

ree

There's a Celebration for Everything These Days…

From the quirky charm of National Peanut Butter Day (January 24) to the canine chaos of Bring Your Dog to Work Day (June 21), and from Coffee Week (14–20 October – yes, it gets a whole week!) to the pillow-swinging fun of International Pillow Fight Day (first Saturday in April), we do love a good reason to mark the calendar.

Among the many unusual observances out there, Afternoon Tea Week (11–17 August) is one we can definitely get behind.

And it seems we’re not alone!

It’s been a buzzing season here, and one of the highlights for many of our visitors has undoubtedly been our afternoon tea experience.

A Taste of Summer at Yorkshire Lavender

Served by reservation only, our classic afternoon tea features a selection of finger sandwiches, a trio of cakes, and our much-loved lavender scones paired with blueberry and lavender conserve.

Guests have been enjoying their tiered delights either in the cosy surroundings of the tea room or al fresco, taking in the views over our lavender fields and the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

The good news? There’s still time to indulge – afternoon teas are available until 31st August.

And since we get lots of queries, here’s a handy guide to some of the most frequently asked questions:

What’s Included in Afternoon Tea?

You’ll receive a selection of freshly prepared finger sandwiches. Typical fillings may include cucumber and cream cheese, ham with tomato chutney, and coronation chicken.

This is followed by one of our signature lavender scones, served with Rodda’s clotted cream and our homemade blueberry and lavender conserve.

Also included is a selection of cakes. The exact options vary, but you can enjoy treats like lemon and lavender drizzle, chocolate cake, carrot cake, ginger cake, or a brownie.

The whole spread is served with your choice of tea or coffee.

Do You Offer Vegan or Allergen-Friendly Options?

Yes, we do! We’re happy to cater for vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free diets, and we’re also flexible when it comes to swapping items if there’s something you don’t like. Just let us know your preferences when you fill out the booking form.

Not a Fan of Lavender?

No problem – while we do champion culinary lavender, we understand it’s not for everyone. You’re welcome to request a plain or fruit scone instead, and we have several cakes that don’t include lavender as well.

Prefer Coffee Over Tea?

We’ve got you covered. Coffee (or even a soft drink) is available as an alternative to tea. You can also upgrade to a sparkling afternoon tea with a glass of Prosecco if you fancy adding a bit of fizz.

Whether you're celebrating Afternoon Tea Week or just want to make the most of summer, we’d love to welcome you before the season ends.

Bookings are open until 31st August – don’t miss out on this seasonal treat!
