Getting creative. Cultivating new skills

When your head gardener has been working with you for more than 20 years, you can trust that she knows a thing or two about lavender (and all the other plants in our gardens, for that matter!)

Years of knowledge gained from monitoring the seasons, experimenting with new methods, and learning from what's worked well has given Julia and the team a wealth of tips and tricks for creating a successful, thriving garden, and enjoying the beauty of the plants and flowers in other ways, too.

We love being able to share some of that insight with you through our workshops. Here's a little bit about what you can expect this year.

Build a beautiful hanging basket

Hanging baskets bring a fantastic pop of colour (and scent) even in the smallest of spaces. And lavender-filled baskets are particularly enticing to bees. In this workshop, you'll learn all you need to know about how to plant a lavender hanging basket that will bloom throughout the season - and take yours home to enjoy.

Create a decorative lavender wreath

A fun, creative and relaxing session, you'll learn how to arrange dried lavender, and other attractive plants, to make a beautiful wreath to hang on your door. And, of course, you'll take your creation home to display with pride.

Lavender propagation

Find out how to take lavender and herbs cuttings that can be grown into new plants. Julia will share all the tips for looking after your cuttings and successfully potting on the young plants, so you can continue to enjoy them every season.
